Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

The Town of Enfield offers a free tax preparation program to assist low to moderate income families. Free tax preparation will be available from February 2 - April 15, 2015 by appointment, as well as the rest of the year, as needed.

The program is now located at:
Family Resource Center (Formerly the Enfield Child Development Center)
110 High St.
Enfield, CT 06082

The program runs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 - 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Earned Income Tax Credit
The VITA program focuses on connecting qualified families with the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit). The EITC is a federal and state tax credit for working families who have adjusted gross income under $52,000.

The Earned Income Tax Credit is one of the government’s largest and most effective anti-poverty programs. The VITA site aims to provide free tax preparation, and general financial services information.

VITA Coalition
VITA sites function through a coalition between town government, the IRS, community volunteers, and local businesses. This coalition makes it possible for residents with annual income of less than $52,000 to receive free tax preparation at the VITA site in Enfield, Connecticut.
