Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

The Town of Enfield offers a free tax preparation program to assist low to moderate income families. Free tax preparation will be available from February 2 - April 15, 2015 by appointment, as well as the rest of the year, as needed.

The program is now located at:
The Department of Social Services
110 High St.
Enfield, CT 06082

The program runs every Tuesday from 6 - 9 p.m. and on Saturday from
9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Earned Income Tax Credit

The VITA program focuses on connecting qualified families with the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit). The EITC is a federal and state tax credit for working families who have adjusted gross income under $54,000.

The Earned Income Tax Credit is one of the government’s largest and most effective anti-poverty programs. The VITA site aims to provide free tax preparation, and general financial services information.

VITA Coalition

VITA sites function through a coalition between town government, the IRS, community volunteers, and local businesses. This coalition makes it possible for residents with annual income of less than $54,000 to receive free tax preparation at the VITA site in Enfield, Connecticut.

Call 211 or log on to www.211ct.org to schedule an appointment at the Enfield VITA Tax Preparation site.
