Borrowing from Other Connecticut Libraries
Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, is the process of getting library materials from another library for our patrons. When the Enfield Public Library does not own a particular item,or it is checked out, we can order material from within the library consortium. When an item is not available in the Encore catalog, it may be possible to borrow from other libraries in Connecticut.
Patrons can request books, CDs, audiobooks, and DVDs.
ILL users must be Enfield residents or work for the town of Enfield.
Making a Request
Patrons can request an ILL in person through the Reference Desk at the Enfield Public Library or at the Pearl Street Library. Patrons can also request an ILL by phone, call the Reference Desk at 860-763-7511. Additionally, patrons may request items online through the Encore library catalog.
Request Response Times
The typical request is filled in 2-4 weeks. The library will contact you when the item arrives to be picked up.
The item borrowed through ILL may be subject to the owning library's lending period. The item may be renewed once, unless the lending library requests that it be returned.
