Disaster Planning for Your Pets

Are you ready? If you’re not ready, design a plan that will work for you and your pets.

If you must leave your house and you think there is a chance you will not be allowed to return take your pets. If you do have to leave your pets have a sign or sticker indicating there are pets left in the house.

1. Have a list of important phone numbers
    and contacts.

2. Have a kit ready to go in case
    you have to leave in a hurry.

  • Animals Veterinary

  • Local Police and Animal Control

  • State Police

  • Fire

  • Local boarding kennels

  • Pet friendly hotels/motels

  • Family contacts

  • Pets medical records

  • Medication requirements

  • list of current medications your pet needs and is on

  • Extra leash and collar, harness (tags on collar)

  • Fresh water

  • Food for at least 5 days (Rotate this food periodically)

  • Blankets, towels

  • Bandages, gauze

  • Flashlight

  • Batteries

  • Collapsible cage (For small dogs and cats)
