The Honorable M. Jodi Rell, Governor

State Capitol

210 Capitol Avenue

Hartford, CT 06106

Dear Governor Rell:

The heavy rainfall of October 14th and 15th generated tremendous flooding in Enfield. These flood waters correspondingly inflicted extensive damages to both public and private properties.

In many cases property owners have sustained extensive flood damage. However, they do not have flood insurance because their properties are not located within a FEMA-designated floodplain.

Please consider this correspondence to be a formal request for financial assistance from both the State of Connecticut and the Federal government to the Town of Enfield and its residents for flood damage relief.

Attached to this letter are emergency declarations for the Town of Enfield. Our office can be contacted at 253-6350 for additional information.

Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Scott Shanley

Town Manager
