Flood/Storm Recovery Financial Assistance for Enfield, Ct. Residents

 

1.  Call your homeowners or car insurance company for any property damage to determine what damage is covered under your policy. Storm damage may be covered while flood damage typically is excluded except for those who have specifically purchased flood insurance.

 

2.  Income eligible citizens may apply for low interest or deferred loans through the Town of Enfield’s Community Development Department, located at 786F Enfield Street (860-253-6390) to assist with the cost of heating systems, hot water heaters, electrical repairs, and roof systems. Eligibility requirements are listed at: http://www.enfield-ct.gov/content/91/160/788/2697.aspx.

 

3.  Income eligible citizens may apply for assistance through the Town of Enfield’s Social Service Department’s Neighborhood Services Division (860-253-6398) to the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program for a furnace or fuel. Eligibility requirements are listed at: http://www.dss.state.ct.us/svcs/energy/chart.htm

 

4.  Application forms are available on the Town of Enfield's Home Page and at Neighborhood Services to determine eligibility for Community Development Funds, Social Service Programs and/or low interest loans at a local bank. Completed applications should be mailed or delivered to: Neighborhood Services, 786F Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.

 

5.  The Emergency Loan Fund of Enfield Inc., a 501C3 non profit operated by a number of churches in Enfield, will be accepting application forms, found on this web site, from flood victims for funds raised by the private charitable organization "Enfield Cares". Applicants will be prescreened by a citizen committee who will direct requests to other funding sources, if applicable, as well. The Town's neighborhood services division will assist. Completed application forms should be mailed or delivered to: Neighborhood Services, 786F Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082 (Telephone 253-6398).

 

6.  Information regarding any state or federal flood assistance will be posted on the Town of Enfield’s web page: www.enfield-ct.gov, when and if it becomes available.
