Meeting of Minutes
December 30, 2008 6:30 pm
Call to Order
A regular meeting of the Clean Energy Committee was held at the Enfield Town Hall, Enfield Street, Enfield, Connecticut on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call
Present were Raymond Gwozdz, Gerard Lafleur, Karen Laplante, Virginia Higley, Jeffrey Myjak, Stephen Moriarty and Matthew Coppler.
Minutes of Preceding Meetings
Motion by Virginia Higley, second by Jeffrey Myjak to make a correction on September 30, 2008 minutes adopted 5-1, with Raymong Gwozdz abstaining.
Motion by Virginia Higley, second by Raymond Gwozdz, to add tabled to minutes October 28, 2008, adopted 6-0.
Old Business
Recap of the Home Energy Fair and all agreed it was a great job. Clean Energy website was discussed by the group. Discussion took place regarding a link to Clean Energy, the resolution, energy vampires and a Governors One Thing link.
Discussion took place regarding the grant from the Clean Energy fund and asked Matthew Coppler to put a grant application together.
Discussion on partnering with Community Energy or Sterling Planet as energy outreach. Would like to bring two companies in for presentation to Clean Energy Committee.
New Buisness
Committee asked to declare the Saturday of the Home Show as Clean Energy Day. A proclamation would need to be requested from the Town Council before the designated day.
Other New Business was discussed such as DUPC’s website on micro-hydro power. Virginia Higley will speak to Tom Arnone about setting up a community club for the Clean Energy Committee.
Chestnut Farm owner is willing to come and talk to the Clean Energy Committee about landscaping for savings.
Correspondence
Gerard Lafleur handed out a news article regarding harnessing human energy. He will contact the individuals to see if they will do a presentation at the Home Show.
Next meeting January 27th, at 6:30 pm, Enfield Room
