MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING
JUNE 6, 2005
A Public Hearing was held in the Council Chambers of the Enfield Town Hall, 820 Enfield Street, Enfield, Connecticut on June 6, 2005. The Public Hearing was called to order by Acting Chairman Fiore at 7:20 p.m.
ROLL-CALL – Present were Councilmen Dodd, Edgar, Fiore, Kaupin, Mangini, Peruta, and Tait. Councilman Crowley, Egan, Reveruzzi and Tallarita were absent. Also present were Town Manager, Scott Shanley; Assistant Town Manager, Daniel Vindigni; Town Clerk, Suzanne Olechnicki; Director of Finance, Gregory Simmons

PUBLIC HEARING
MONDAY, JUNE 6, 2005
“The Enfield Town Council will hold a Public Hearing in the Enfield Town Hall Council Chambers, 820 Enfield Street, Enfield, Connecticut on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 7:20 p.m. to allow interested citizens an opportunity to express their opinions regarding the 2005 Neighborhood Assistance Act proposals”.
Acting Chairman Fiore announced the ground rules for the Public Hearing.
Mr. Vindigni explained this is an annual program administered through the State Department of Revenue Services. He noted this serves as an incentive to businesses to donate to non-profits and municipal agencies that are doing projects and seeking contributions from the business communities. He stated the donating business can get a tax credit for their donation. He stated this request for proposals resulted in only one applicant and that is the Hazardville Institute.
Gretchen Pfeifer-Hall, 4 Somers Road
Stated she’s representing the Hazardville Institute Conservancy Society. She noted they appreciate the opportunity to apply for this program, and this is the third time they applied. She stated they were approved the last two times they applied. She noted they did garner some donations. She credited their secretary, Karen LaPlante for sending letters and making contacts.
Acting Chairman Fiore questioned their plans, and Ms. Pfeifer-Hall stated they plan to continue work on the windows.
As no others wished to speak, Acting Chairman Fiore closed the Public Hearing at 7:25 p.m.
