ENFIELD ADULT DAY CENTER RECEIVES PERFECT SCORE IN PROGRAM REVIEW AND GAINS STATE CERTIFICATION FOR THREE YEARS
The Enfield Adult Day Center received a perfect score during a recent site visit and peer review of the Center’s medical model of care. The Enfield Adult Day Center will receive a Certificate of Commendation for its excellence in programming and will be certified for a period of three years by the Connecticut Association of Adult Day Centers, Inc. in cooperation with the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services. “We have a great team here,” says Holly Vannucci, Director of Enfield Adult Day Center. “All of the staff members contributed to the success of our site review.”
The Adult Day Center is in its 11th year of operation. The Center provide services to frail elderly and physically challenged individuals in Enfield and surrounding towns, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Transportation of Enfield residents is provided by Enfield Dial-a-Ride.
The overall goal of the Adult Day Center is to provide a special alternative to home care or a full time nursing home, enabling participants to remain in their own homes or those of their caregivers. Daily activities include social time, hot meals & snacks, physical fun, creative projects, entertainment, medical treatments, and complete personal hygiene. Professional nursing services provided include administration of medications, respiratory treatments, oxygen, pacemaker checks, physical, occupational and speech therapies, and podiatry services. The Center takes clients on trips monthly. A monthly support group is provided for caregivers.
