Operation Fuel 2009-2010

Neighborhood Services is now the Operation Fuel Fuel Bank for Enfield Residents

Information Regarding Operation Fuel's 2009-2010 Programs

For Connecticut residents interested in Operation Fuel's energy assistance programs for the coming season, please read the following because there are several changes from last year:

  • Energy assistance from Operation Fuel is not available until after January 4, 2010.  The "Emergency" will run until June 30 or until funds are exhausted.  The "Mission" program will run until June 30 or until funds are exhausted.  Program dates are subject to change based and are controlled by Operation Fuel and NOT Neighborhood Services.

  • Operation Fuel will NOT be operating the Elderly Home Heating Assistance Program or the Expanded Eligibility Program this year.

  • Operation Fuel will be running their "Mission Program" for families in crisis living between 151-200% of the federal poverty limit, with a one time grant of up to 500 dollars towards a heat or non-heat utility.  Operation Fuel will also be running a limited "Emergency Assistance Program" for families in crisis living between 0-200% of the federal poverty limit, with a one time grant of up to 300 dollars towards a heat or non-heat utility.

  • If you are eligible for, have applied and received the state energy assistance program (860-560-5800, www.crtct.org) you must exhaust all benefits before applying for Operation Fuel.

  • Operation Fuel does not replace or offer rebates for furnaces.

  • Neighborhood Services takes applications for Operation Fuel by appointment only.  Appointments are scehduled on Mondays only unless there is a crisis.
