Nomination Process and Form |
A Nomination sub-committee exists to solicit, collect and review the candidate writeups. Before a candidate can be given serious consideration, a valid written athletic biography must be on file with the committee. See the form for biography outline of required information. The committee compiles and maintains a list of biographies, currently hundreds of candidates received to date. The committee reviews the information available and makes recommendations to the HOF membership for voting consideration in the May time frame. The biographical information obtained on candidates is a critical piece to our process. It is extremely difficult to research all candidate names that the committee becomes aware of. Nominees names and biographies are sought from all sources. We rely on the public to provide a great deal of names and information about possible inductees and teams. Each year a request for candidates is put out in the newspapers. Anyone can nominate a candidate for consideration by completing the form or contacting the HOF.
The Criteria for consideration on candidate eligibility includes:
Candidates who have had an impact in any way to Enfield athletics will be considered for induction. Does or has the candidate for the Hall of Fame: 1) Now or at one time been a resident of Enfield, CT. or have a clearly defined link to the Town of Enfield?, 2) Currently or have been involved in competitive athletics as a player, coach, working professional, and/or volunteer at the professional or community level?, 3) made a significant recognizable positive impact in her/his field and/or level of participation? 4) Display or have displayed integrity, character in a leadership role or as a positive role model for others to emulate? and 5) Candidate's high school class must be out of school at least ten(10) year to be eligible.
Nomination Categories:
A.
1. Active player/coach/volunteer in a competitive sport at the professional level.
2. Active contributor in an ancillary area that impacts the field of athletics and is
a recognized professional in his/her field.
3. Past contributor/player/coach/volunteer/professional who has impacted the
postive direction for athletics in the community.
