FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER COORDINATOR

  • CLOSING DATE:   THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 2005
  • RATE OF PAY:     to $44,754
  • EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  Must have Masters degree in education, child development, psychology or related field and at least five (5) years of experience in program development and administration or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must possess valid drivers license.
  • HOURS OF WORK:  35 hours per week

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible position which coordinates the delivery of services of the Family Resource Center program to the school and community.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports to the Director of Social Services and the Principal of Alcorn School. 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: As assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversees Family Resource Center Program core components operating both within the school and at the Family Resource Center Annex; supervises other collaborative community services; regular and punctual attendance; attends and participates in school staff meetings and scheduled activities; works with committees to coordinate Head Start, Enfield Child Day Care and Alcorn staff programs; works with Director of Social Services to oversee the smooth transition of preschool childcare from Enfield Child Day Care Center to the Family Resource Center annex; facilitates advisory committee meetings on a monthly basis and program planning meetings on an as-needed basis; works with program participants to assure maximum communication and involvement in the Family Resource Center program components and activities; assures that participant records are in order and complete; conducts bi-weekly staff meetings; co-develops a monthly comprehensive schedule of activities with component coordinators; monitors staff attendance, payroll timesheets and other administrative work; makes arrangement for staff development and training; plans and participates in in-service training; develops program brochures, program flyers, newsletters, etc.; provides written materials and data as required to implement Family Resource Center Program.; regular and punctual attendance.

Must be able to concentrate on fine details with some interruption.  Needs to attend to task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time.  Able to understand and relate to specific ideas, generally several at a time and to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts.  Must be able to remember task/assignment given to self and others over long periods of time. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Must have knowledge of the community and agencies with which the Coordinator will interact; must have experience in program and budget administration; must have experience in supervision and staff development; must be familiar with or become familiar with the "Schools of the 21st Century" concept and work with staff and the community toward the actualization of this goal.
