MIN. TRAINING & EXP: Associates degree or equivalent in Human Services or related field plus a minimum of one year experience with youth on casework, group work, education, program development, recreation or equivalent combination. Valid driver's license.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Combating Underage Drinking Grant has a position for a Program Coordinator. It is a 10 hour position at $14 an hour for 48 weeks, beginning October 1, 2005 and running through June 30, 2006. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for co-facilitating the community task force, taking minutes, creating the agenda, and disseminating all correspondence for the task force. The Program Coordinator will actively maintain the diversity of the task force and be a liaison between the Local Prevention Council and the Youth Advisory Board. The Coordinator will posses basic skills in working with youth, organizing community events, and forming alliances with community groups such as the schools, police, merchants, business, and other youth serving agencies to implement the goals of the grant.
The Program Coordinator must be able to work independently, be highly reliable, have excellent follow through, be organized, be a team player, a good communicator, and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills. The Program Coordinator must have excellent writing and basic computer skills. The Program Coordinator will represent the task force at local and state wide trainings and conferences and attend all mandatory meetings by CCSUD. The hours are flexible requiring an occasional evening and weekend day. It is a grant funded position and will expire at the end of the grant.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Ability to engage youth in positive relationships; knowledge and ability to facilitate positive youth development activities; knowledge and skill in leadership techniques; ability to be a positive role model; ability to carry out policies and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships in a staff team; ability to communicate effectively.
