TOWN OF ENFIELD OCTOBER 1, 2006 REVALUATION
Owners of all Real Property in the Town of Enfield will receive a NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT CHANGE within 10 days of February 28, 2007 of the final Assessed value for the October 1, 2006 Grand List.
The formal appeal process begins following the February 28, 2007 signing of the Grand List by the Assessor. To appeal property value subsequent to this notification, you must apply to the Board of Assessment Appeals, in writing, no later than March 20, 2007. The forms are available at the Assessor's Office and must be completed in full.
After appealing to the Board of Assessment Appeals, residents will receive notification of a set hearing date, time, and place. These hearings will occur during the month of April. Subsequent to an appeal, and assuming the board can accommodate all appellants during the month of April, the Board will notify each appellant no later than May 1, 2007 of its decision.
The final step to the appeal process is to appeal from the Board of Assessment Appeals. Property owners, or any lessee of real property whose lease has been recorded per CGS 4-19, claiming to be aggrieved by the action of the board of assessment appeals may, within two months from the date of the mailing of notice of the board's action, make application to Superior Court.
You may view your values on the web page. Values are being reviewed daily and changes may be made through February 28, 2007 as the Assessor completes the review process.
