PROGRAM INFORMATION & DATA:
The Town of Enfield is undergoing revaluation of all real property as of Octobe
1, 2006 in accordance with Connecticut law. The 2006 Grand List will reflect
70% of the market value as of October 1, 2006 as the basis for taxation for real
property. This value basis will remain in effect until the next revaluation
which is currently scheduled for October 1, 2011. It is critical that these
values are arrived at in a consistent and equitable process to achieve fair
taxation in accordance to value. The primary function of the Assessor's Office
is to establish fair market value of all taxable Real and Personal property
within the Town of Enfield. Personal Property and Motor Vehicles are reassessed
annually and also reflect 70% of market value. The Assessor's Office also
provides a wide variety of customer service and administers state and local
programs for tax relief for elderly homeowners, totally disabled persons and
veterans who meet certain requirements.
DEPARTMENT GOALS:
Value all Real Property within the corporate limits of the Town of Enfield
Advise real property owners of the Revaluation process
Notify property owners of their new assessment and the appeal process
Discover, list and value new improvements
Continue data analysis programs
Revise Exemptions, amounts and criteria to comply with State mandated changes.
