PROGRAM INFORMATION & DATA:
The Economic Development office conducts programs, services and activities aime
at business recruitment, attraction and expansion. The services and programs
include economic research, financing, site development, project management,
business advocacy, marketing, case management and liaisons to the programs and
services of regional, state-wide and national entities; both public and private
for the benefit of investment in Enfield so as to create jobs and expand the tax
base. The office works in close coordination with all Town departments that can
impact investment in Enfield.
DEPARTMENT GOALS:
Conduct 25 Enfield business visits to gain first hand knowledge of business
issues/concerns/opportunities.
Continuous improvement of prospect management practices to provide companies
with professional, courteous, valuable service.
Participate in regional and state economic development organizations to promote
Enfield and regional interests and improve business environment.
Collaborate with Enfield Federal Savings in submitting an application to Federal
Home Loan Bank funds to promote Thompsonville home ownership.
Use all practical means to promote "shovel ready" industrial sites to increase
upon chronic supply of industrial site for growth in Enfield.
Update old marketing material; printed and web. Related, conduct spot
advertising to keep Enfield name before business decision makers.
Provide plan and direction on potential redevelopment of three Thompsonville
properties: The Strand Theater; Higgins School; Train Station.
Prepare a scope and budget for study of passive recreation opportunities for 150
acres of Open Space in the Enfield Memorial Industrial Park.
Replace all Enfield Memorial Industrial Park signs, because of destroyed,
damaged signs and changes to business composition.
Retain balance in Industrial Park Fund in light of serious shortage of
industrial land sites in Enfield.
