Minutes of Regular Meeting
November 2, 2010
Enfield Room 6:30pm
Present
Betty Maguire, Cathy Sperrazza, Terri Jedynak, Barbara Kelly, Yvonne Wollenberg and Diane Carlone
Acceptance of Minutes
Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted by Barbara Kelly and seconded by Terri Jedynak.
Chairperson’s Remarks
Betty gave us an update on our newest member. Danielle Brown is a graphic artist. Although she is unable to attend our meetings until January due to a conflict in her classes, she may be a resource for making our needed posters. Betty will invite her to the Dan Kane concert.
The Culinary Institute trip was discussed. To avoid confusion on future bus trips, we will add $2-$3 to each ticket to cover gratuity. We will also note on our posters that we will stop on the way to the event and on the way back.
To avoid any further confusion, the new Chair needs to ask questions when she is not familiar with what needs to be done.
Betty also advised that Mary Keller has the check for the entertainment for the Library Festival of Trees.
Tickets for the Dan Kane Singers concert were handed out.
Treasurer’s Report:
Due to new system upgrades at Town Hall, we are not able to obtain the balance of our accounts. We did however discuss the CIA trip:
38 tickets sold at $58 each= $2204
Meals= $1710
Bus= $830
Staff Liaison’s Report
Mary Keller was not able to attend the meeting.
Old Business
The Dan Kane concert is November 27, 2010 at 7:30pm. Yvonne will get the Walmart charge card from the town to purchase the supplies we need.
Betty will advertise in the JI, Thrifty Shopper, Rare Reminder and ITowns.
We will all bake goodies for the concert.
The Carol Sing will be held December 5, 2010. We will meet at 7:00pm at the gazebo to make our introductions.
The Library Festival of Trees will be held on December 16, 2010. Terri and Diane will decorate the tree. The committee will once again bake for the occasion.
New Business
We are still hoping to have our annual Wine Tasting event in February although we are running into many obstacles. We will continue to work on this as we have already had many inquiries.
Diane will purchase tickets for the Blue Man Group performance in Boston on April 10, 2011.
She will also check with her contact at the Bushnell re: West Side Story.
Someone suggested we get tickets to see Bill Cosby, however, when put to a vote, it was vetoed.
Betty will check with Amy Witbro to see if Heritage Day will be held and to see if there is anything we can support.
She will also check with Liberty Band to check on the possibility of a future concert.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45pm with a motion by Terri Jedynak and seconded by Yvonne Wollenberg.
