In the fall of 2019, the Town of Enfield applied for, and received, a Historic Preservation Enhancement Grant from the Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office for the preparation of a Historic Resources Inventory completed for the Town of Enfield. The Town then hired FuturePast Preservation to conduct a survey and complete inventory forms and photographs for approximately 200 historic structures and/or sites in the Town of Enfield. This survey was done in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior Standards and the procedures of the CT State Historic Preservation Office. This report contains the results of the study, prepared between June 2020 and January 2022. The expectation of this survey is to enrich the town’s historical record and supplement the body of information previously compiled by the original survey completed for the village of Thompsonville in 1989 as well as the Historic American Building Survey completed in 1966. The focus area of this survey was houses constructed prior to 1900. On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, FuturePast Preservation gave a public presentation on the project and survey.
