Veteran’s discharge papers (DD214) must be filed by September 30th to entitle the veteran to an exemption on taxes due the following July. An original or certified copy of a DD214 form must be presented which will then be returned to you and a copy kept on file in the Town Clerk's office.  All questions regarding benefit eligibility must be addressed by the Assessor's office.

Certified copies may be obtained from a town in which the DD214 was previously filed or by requesting a copy from the National Archives at this link
