Economic Development Commission
The Economic Development Commission was created by an ordinance adopted by the Enfield Town Council at a Regular Meeting held on November 6, 1996, pursuant to Chapter III, Section 6 of the Enfield Town Charter and CT General Statute Section 7-136. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission shall be for the promotion and development of the economic resources of the Town of Enfield.
Enfield 2031 - Planning our Community Together
The POCD Steering Committee will be hosting a virtual public forum, Wed. April 28, 2021 at 6:30 PM. This will be an interactive forum facilitated by the Town’s planning consultant who will engage participants in a series of virtual activities designed to inform the planning process. Activities will include, SWOT analysis, ‘Gives’ and ‘Gets’, Continuums of Change, and a Vision for Enfield.

Transit Oriented Development
The Economic Development Commission (EDC) is excited the Enfield train platform design phase has been funded through federal, state and local monies. The hard work and perseverance of the past and current administration, state and local officials is greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing the presentation by the State DOT for the final design in March 2021. The EDC fully supports this project and the tremendous economic redevelopment potential it will bring to Enfield.

Recording of the Meetings
The commission is comprised of 9 members who shall reside or conduct business in Enfield. The members are appointed by the Town Manager. In addition, the Town Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission shall each appoint 1 liaison to serve as an ex-officio member. Term of office is 5 years. Meetings are held at least on a quarterly basis.
