News Release for the Week of August 21, 2017


If you are looking for a casino trip, we have a great deal for you! Reserve your spot today for our 3-day trip to Atlantic City, NJ, on November 13-15, 2017, with fabulous casino bonuses which include $30 slot, $10 food credit, and 2-$20 meal credits that will value up to $30 if used at specific locations.  Stay at the Resorts Casino Hotel, with a prime location at the northern end of the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The National September 11 Memorial Museum trip sign up date is Friday August 25 at 10 a.m. in the dining room, payment is required at the time of sign up.  Trip date is Sunday, November 5, 2017 departing at 7:00 a.m. from the Enfield Senior Center. Trip cost is $81 per person. The museum displays artifacts associated with the events of 9/11, while presenting stories of loss and recovery. 

Registration for September and October classes is now open for Enfield residents and begins on Tuesday, August 22 for nonresidents at 8:30 a.m. Registration forms can be found online or at the Senior Center.  Pick up a Front & Center newsletter if you haven’t received one, for all of the class details.

Women face unique challenges when planning for their retirement, longer than expected lifetimes, financial impacts from divorce or the death of a spouse, and unique legacy planning issues.  Join us for Empowering Women for a Successful Retirement on Thursday, August 24 at 6 pm to discuss what you need to know to address these issues and more – by women for women! Please sign up in advance at the front desk.

Join us for Afternoon Dance on Friday, August 25 at 2 p.m.  Dance to the sounds of Richie Mitnick on keyboard and enjoy a snack at the break.  Cost is $3 at the door.

If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts. The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s a seminar on Wednesday, August 30 at 1 pm, will provide information on diagnosis, risk factors, disease stages, treatment options, and much more.
