Join us for Healthy Eating During the Holidays presented by Erin Ballou, M.A., St. Francis Care on December 6 at 1 pm.  It’s the most wonderful time of the year and that means it’s time for all of the goodies, special holiday dishes, festive cookies, buffets, and plenty of party food!  It IS possible to make it through the holiday eating season without gaining a lot of weight.  We will discuss some simple strategies that will help you enjoy the holidays without losing sight of your healthy eating plan.  Please register at the front desk.

On Wednesday, December 6 at 10 am we will have a representative from the Network Against Domestic Abuse facilitate a session on “Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse”.  This is the perfect opportunity to come together to erase some of the stigma associated with domestic violence and learn about elder abuse.  Some of the topics that will be discussed include the cycle of violence, recognizing the warning signs of a potential abuser, why victims stay and resources to contact for help.  Please register at the front desk.

Are you 62 years of age or older and interested in taking college-credit courses or personal enrichment courses at Asnuntuck Community College (ACC) for free?  Then this workshop is for you!  On December 13 at 2 pm join ACC admissions staff who will provide an overview of the application process, review program information and answer any questions you may have.  Please register at the senior center front desk or by calling 860-763-7425 by December 11.

Join us on December 12 at 2 pm for a trip presentation.  This trip presentation will be an overview of several of our upcoming trips and a chance to address any questions or concerns.  Trip details will be presented on Virginia Beach & The Outer Banks; Colorado Trains; Nashville and Iceland.  We may also review a couple of other trip offerings if time allows.  No registration is needed.

Want to become a volunteer Dial-A-Ride driver to bring Enfield seniors and physically disabled to their out-of-town medical appointments?  We would greatly appreciate your service.  Volunteers use town-owned vehicles to transport individuals.  All you need is a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record from the DMV.  Please contact Annette Orlandi at 860-272-3545 for more information.

Trip flyers are available on our website at or can be picked up at the Senior Center.
