Social Services

Given the everchanging supply of vaccine doses coming into CT, please continue to check the following CT DPH website for all updates concerning how to Schedule an appointment at the various available locations:

If you're aged 65 or older, or are included within any of the Phase 1a groups, you are currently eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccination in Connecticut. 

If you need assistance with VAMs enrollment and registration and you are an Enfield resident 65 or older, please call 860-253-6398, leave your name and number, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Enfield Police Department

Efforts at telephone scams continue.  This is friendly reminder that you should not provide personal information over the phone, email, or via text message.  The following are some of the more common scams that have been occurring:

  • Vehicle warranty calls
  • COVID19 calls
  • Requests for remote access to personal electronic devices
  • Request by callers that you purchase gift cards and provide them with the gift card serial number
  • Requests for your banking or social security information

Family Resource Center

The FRC will be offering a 4-week Virtual Music program for families led by Music Therapist Renee Coro on Friday mornings in March called “Families in Harmony”. Senior Center 

AARP Tax Aide will begin on February 22 – April 12, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. This program is by appointment only. All appointments are filled, and we are currently taking wait list appointments only.

We All Fit Together - Every one of you is a part of the puzzle that is the Enfield Senior Center! Decorate your puzzle piece and contribute your individual voice to form our story and complete our Enfield Senior Center puzzle. Each piece starts out blank, and in the end, all the pieces are different and fit together. You can color, paint, collage, embroider, anything to express yourself. You can be anonymous or sign your piece. Call 860-763-7425 to get your puzzle piece.

February/March Holiday Trivia Contest: Check out our February/March newsletter for complete details and to view the contest questions.  Those who respond with all correct answers will be entered into a drawing to win a fun prize!  Enter by sending an email with your family’s answers to by March 19.  

Take it, Make it Craft Kits: Contact the Enfield Recreation Division to reserve one of two seasonal craft kits.  Open to Enfield youth ages 3 and up, free craft kits are available while supplies last.  Activities include:   

  • Rainbow Lacing Craft Kit (ages 6 and older)
  • Spring Bunny Paper Roll Craft Kit (ages 3 and older) 

Our Virtual Recreation Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and contains a variety of free resources for you to use from the comfort and safety of your own home.  


Because of the decrease in COVID cases and the increasing availability of the vaccine, we are happy to announce that beginning on March 1st an appointment will no longer be necessary at the Central Library.  We will continue to operate at 50% of our normal capacity, but that is typically adequate for most days.  Due to the small size, appointments will still be necessary at the Pearl St. Branch. 

Join the Library on Friday, March 12, at 6:30 PM for a Facebook Live Concert with Abbotts Cross.  We are happy to welcome Abbots Cross back for the second time for a celebration of traditional and modern Irish music with unique improvisations. This program is sponsored by ECAC Enfield Culture and Arts Commission.

Years of concentrated experimentation with sound results in a live or virtual show that is spectacular. Layers of sound with deceptively simple melodies make music that is both other worldly & totally catchy. With the technologies of looping & sound effects, on the spot recordings emerge, creating the musical equivalent of light traveling through a prism. You will learn about the basic science behind this magical sound. This program is sponsored by ECAC Enfield Culture and Arts Commission.

Children’s Programs

Join the Library for the Online Rhyme Time program for children ages birth to 24 months via Facebook on Mondays at 10:30 AM. Virtual Storytime for ages 2-4 will be on Facebook on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM and Storytime for ages 4-5 will be on Facebook on Thursdays at 9:30 AM.
