What are the marks and stakes I see?
Before any excavation starts, you will see paint marks in the road and survey stakes in front yards. These are used as reference points for the Contractor’s work. The stakes are intentionally set back from the work area and outside the actual limits of excavation so that they aren’t displaced during the excavation process. You should not assume that the stakes indicate the new edge of road.
