Lieutenant Amanda Mele joined the department in 2004. Amanda received the Firefighter of the Year award in 2009. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Fire Science with a concentration in Arson Investigation, and a minor in Criminal Justice from University of New Haven in 2010. She is currently a mentor in the departments Recruit Mentor Program. She was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August of 2013.
